Dr. Augustus G S Azariah (augie), has a very interesting career, having started work in the year 1991 in the area of Tech Sales, Consulting & Training.
He is currently Associate Director - Human Resources at IBM with a focus on Employee & Labor Relations. This exciting role enables him to be involved in all aspects that “touch” employees. Having joined IBM in 1999, he is credited with setting up an Employer Brand that supported IBM’s growth in India. He has held various leadership roles in IBM India Human Resources, in the areas of Business HR, Staffing, Leadership Development, Succession Planning, Mergers, Divestments & Acquisitions and currently managing Employee and Labor Relations.
Prior to IBM he has worked at British Aerospace HAL as Head of HR, Equinox Solutions an IT product company where he headed HR, First Computers & Datapro both leading training organizations where he managed Sales & Marketing.

In the Indian IT industry he is recognized as a thought leader, where he leads public policy initiatives across the IT industry and makes recommendations to the government towards creating a proactive Labor eco system. He is credited with coining the acronym POSH - Prevention of Sexual Harassment and collaborated with the government in introducing a specific law in this area.
He is a Futurist and is working on innovative projects in Human Resources in the area of The Future of Work where he expounds the concept of the Universality of Talent! This is pending patent.
He has a Masters Degree in Business Management and a post graduate diploma in Computer Applications & numerous industry certifications and accolades. He is a sought after keynote speaker and has spoken at leading B Schools & industry forums in India and the US.
He serves on the boards & committees of BCIC, NASSCOM, CII, GWFM, ISTD et al. He is also the co-chair of the Womens Empowerment & Leadership development Committee of the Bangalore Chamber of Commerce.
He is a startup mentor as well as a strong supporter of social entrepreneurship that focuses or supports the advancement of women.
On the personal front he is actively involved in community development and supports in rehabilitating oppressed women and children with learning disability and is committed to education and community health.
He likes to spend time traveling with his family and is also a middle distance runner and loves to watch movies and listen to music when he has the time.
